George R. R. Martin just made the wait for The Winds of Winter a bit easier for A Song of Ice and Fire fans—or more difficult, as this snippet may only leave them wanting more.
The author of the hit series Game of Thrones released a new chapter in his ongoing book series, only a few weeks ahead of Game of Thrones’
fifth season premiere on HBO. And the passage is more than a few
lines—it appears to be an entire chapter from, all told from the point
of view of Sansa Stark.
At this point in the book series, Sansa is in hiding,
pretending to be Lord Baelish’s bastard daughter Alayne Stone. Sansa
last had a point-of-view chapter back in the series’ fourth book, A Feast for Crows, in 2005. Sansa is played by Sophie Turner on Game of Thrones; fans won’t have to wait a decade to see her onscreen again.
The excerpt can be read on George R.R.Martin’s website.
The chapter is online now, and if you don’t like spoilers don’t look.
The Winds of Winter won’t be released this year, and Martin’s publisher HarperCollins has told the media, including the Guardian, that they have no idea when the book will be out.
