Animation Novels to Read before it Hits the Movies !!

Home (2015)

 

 Animation based children's novel "The True Meaning of Smekday" by Adam Rex in which a friendly yet inept alien race named Boov, led by Captain Smek (Steve Martin), invades Earth to hide from their mortal enemy and make it a new home with all the humans being relocated. But when one resourceful girl, Tip (Rihanna) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons), who has accidentally notified the enemies of his whereabouts. The two fugitives realize there's a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on a road trip of a lifetime. The voice cast also includes Jennifer Lopez and Matt Jones.

The Little Prince (2015)


 Stop motion animation based on the novel of the same name by Antoine de Saint-ExupĂ©ry. The story centers on a child prodigy The Little Girl (Mackenzie Foy) who lives with her equally academically talented yet overachieving mother (Rachel McAdams). After moving into a new neighborhood, the girl meets her next door neighbor The Aviator (Jeff Bridges), an old yet eccentric and mischievous man. The Aviator introduces his new friend to an extraordinary world where anything is possible, a world that he himself was initiated into long ago by The Little Prince (Riley Osborne). It's here that the story that brings the girl and the Aviator together on an extraordinary adventure where she discovers that it's human connections that matter most, and that what's truly essential can only be seen with the heart. The voice cast includes Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, Benicio del Toro, James Franco, Ricky Gervais, Paul Giamatti and Albert Brooks.

Strange Magic (2015)




Inspired by William Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Night Dream this Disney animated musical is produced by George Lucas who also wrote the story, follows Goblins, elves, fairies and imps who embark on a musical adventure in hopes of getting a powerful potion. The movie will use "popular songs from the past six decades" and features animation by Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic. The voice cast includes Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Meredith Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein and Peter Stormare.
