Nina Dobrev to Exit The Vampire Diaries After Six Years!!


The hit series based on novels by L.J Smith ,The Vampire Diaries, a riveting conclusion to the tale of two vampire brothers and the beautiful girl torn between them.

New beginnings! After six years on the CW’s The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev is looking forward to tackling new roles — but she admits it’ll be “strange.”

In an interview with Self magazine, the June 2015 cover girl opens up about exiting the show that made her famous.“I’ve loved working on this show. It’s been such a crazy, awesome adventure, and I’ve been surrounded by so many people who I consider family,” Dobrev, who announced she was leaving her role as leading lady Elena Gilbert behind with an emotional Instagram last month, told the mag. “I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it’s going to be so strange not to be with them.”

Ian Somerhalder’s ex-girlfriend, whose final episode of The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursday, is planning on hitting the road with her girlfriends before tackling her next big role.

“There are no hotel reservations, no real plans,” she said of the road trip. “Just six people, three vehicles, two in each car.”

After taking what’s a likely a much needed vacation, the soon-to-be CW alum is planning on branching out. “I’m ready to put up that fight again,” she said when it comes to auditioning for more ambitious roles. “I’m excited to put up that fight.”

Dobrev’s June 2015 cover issue hits newsstands May 26. The Vampire Diaries season six finale airs Thursday, May 14, at 8 p.m. on the CW.
