Just when the buzz of 'Fifty Shades' is about to die down , E L James announced on Monday, June 1, that a new Fifty Shades of Grey book is in the works, told from kinky businessman Christian Grey's perspective. The date of release was specifically chosen because it is the birthday of the novel's male protagonist.
The extremely successful British author, 52, returned to writing after taking a three-year break following the release of her original Fifty Shades trilogy. The best-selling books came out in quick succession, with Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed all hitting stores between mid-2011 and mid-2012.
"This book is dedicated to those readers who asked … and asked … and asked … and asked for this," E.L James wrote in a statement on her blog.
"Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past," she added.
The upcoming Fifty Shades book explores Grey's feelings and the inside thoughts while he indulges in his sadistic side.
